Q. Can I create a campaign message or e-newsletter from scratch?

Yes! With InSite, you can create dynamic campaign messages from scratch that can contain as much content as you like. You have complete control over the entire layout and style of your message, and you're only limited by your imagination.

Q. Can I easily customize my campaign message or e-newsletter layout to include logos, fonts, and colors of my choice?

Yes! InSite comes with an easy-to-use HTML editor that allows you to quickly customize your campaign message layout to include logos, graphics, pictures, backgrounds, fonts and colors of your choice. You can even insert streaming media files into your messages.

Q. Can I create campaign messages or e-newsletters based on predefined templates?

Yes! If you already have a template you can incorporate the elements of your template into InSite or you can use a variety of default style sheets that you can select to control the underlying look and feel of your message. From there, you can add other elements to customize any part your message.

Q. Can I brand my message or e-newsletter?

Yes! You can customize your campaign message layout to include logos, graphics, pictures, backgrounds, fonts and colors of your choice. You can even insert streaming media files.

Q. Can I use HTML programming if desired when designing the campaign message or e-newsletter (for formatting, line breaks, etc.)?

Yes! If you are familiar with HTML or CSS, you can control the look and feel of any part of your message. If you are new to HTML or CSS, InSite comes with an easy-to-use HTML editor that will allow you to quickly customize your message like an expert user.

Q. Can I configure a campaign message or e-newsletter with multiple pages?

Yes! You can configure a multi-page message by simply selecting this feature in a check box and by assigning page numbers. Your messages can have any number of pages and you can assign any number of questions to a page.

Q. Can I preview my campaign message or e-newsletter during and after creation?

Yes! You can preview your message using the message preview function.

Q. Can I print a message or e-newsletter for review or for offline distribution?

Yes! InSite allows you to produce a printer-friendly version of your message in MS Word or PDF format.

Q. Can I password protect a message or e-newsletter?

Yes! you can password protect you a message by inserting a dynamic landing page that includes functionality to capture information to verify and or authenticate those contacted to receive your message.

Q. Can I create a message or e-newsletter in multiple languages?

Yes! If your computer contains the necessary character sets you can configure your message in any language you want. InSite messages have been configured in the following languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, German, Russian, Chinese and Japanese.

Q. Can I edit previously-created messages or e-newsletter?

Yes! You can edit your messages at any time.

Q. Can I copy previously-created messages or e-newsletters?

Yes! So you don't have to start from scratch, InSite has a feature that allows you to copy your messages to use over again.

Q. Can I populate message or e-newsletter content using an RSS feed?

Yes! So you don't have to recreate content, you can pull text, images, links etc. using an RSS feed or store and pull content from our Content Manager.

Q. Can I use a third-party content management system to create and store message or e-newsletter content?

Yes! InSite Messages seamlessly integrates with third-party content management systems.

Q. Can I spell-check my message or e-newsletter text?

Yes! You can spell check your message content and links.

Q. Can I configure my message or e-newsletter to contain hyperlinks and other functionality in the message header?

Yes! The message header is entirely customizable.

Q. Can I use my own CSS style sheets to manage to look/feel of my message or e-newsletter?

Yes! InSite allows you to insert your own CSS into the application to customize the look and feel of your message.

Q. Does InSite come with professionally-designed CSS style sheet templates?

Yes! InSite has a variety of default style sheets that you can select to control the underlying look and feel of your message. From there, you can add other elements to customize any part your message using InSite's HTML editor.

1.2 Managing Contacts, Lists and Subscriptions

Q. Can I import contacts or subscriber email addresses and information into the system?

Yes! By default you can import contact names and email address, however, you can also customize the contact information you import into the system.

Q. Can I export contact/subscriber email addresses and information?

Yes! You can export any or all subscriber information contained in the system in the following formats: Excel; SQL, CSV; SPSS; HTML with Office Components; Web archive; Acrobat PDF; XML files with report data and TIFF files.

Q. Can I maintain and reuse subscriber contact information?

Yes! You can maintain, reuse, update and delete contact information.

Q. Can I create groups of panelists and assign panelists to groups?

Yes! You can assign contacts (or panelists) to subscription or distribution lists and maintain an unlimited number of contacts and distribution lists in the system.

Q. Can site visitors subscribe and automatically be assigned to a distribution list?

Yes! Visitors to your website that want to subscribe to a list can enter their contact information that is automatically assigned to a distribution list for future message distribution.

Q. Can site contacts unsubscribe and automatically be removed from a distribution list?

Yes! Contacts can unsubscribe from a list (or lists) at any time.

Q. Can I assign quotas to pre-defined recipient lists?

Yes! You can assign quotas to contacts on your distribution lists so long as these contacts have some form of pre defined information. For example, if you have defined the gender of the contacts on your distribution list you can then set a quota on the number of female and male respondents you wish to reach for your Message.

1.3 Campaign Distribution

Q. Can I distribute messages via web, email, or pocket PC-compatible devices?

Yes! You can distribute messages via email, post links to messages on your website, and also configure messages to be distributed to Pocket-PC compatible devices.

Q. Can I import email addresses and contact information into the system to send messages?

Yes! By default you can import respondent names and email address, however, you can also customize the contact information you can import into the system and link to a respondent.

Q. Can I export email addresses and contact info?

Yes! You can export any or all contact information contained in the system in the following formats: Excel; SQL, CSV; SPSS; HTML with Office Components; Web archive; Acrobat PDF; XML files with report data and TIFF files.

Q. Can I create email lists?

Yes! Using InSite's Contact Manager you can create lists and import contacts into your lists.

Q. Can I manually type in email addresses and contact information?

Yes! You can manually enter email addresses and contact information into your lists.

Q. Can I personalize messages?

Yes! You can personalize all your messages using placeholders to display first name, last name, title, etc.

Q. Can I merge contact information into a message?

Yes! You can insert any information linked to a contact into a message through the use of predefined placeholders.

Q. Can I configure messages with the ability for recipients to unsubscribe or opt out?

Yes! You can easily add an unsubscribe link to all your messages.

Q. Can I designate "from" and a "reply-to" email address in my message?

Yes! You can configure all outgoing messages to contain a "from" or sender email address, in addition to inserting a reply-to link into the body of the message.

Q. Can I set a specific time and date that will automatically send out a message?

Yes! You can set the time and date a message will be dispatched to your contacts.

Q. Can I receive auto notification and confirmation that a message invitation has been received?

Yes! You can turn on/off auto notification and confirmation that a message invitation has been received.

Q. Can I create and configure message reminder notifications?

Yes! You can easily configure reminder notifications and set the time and date these reminders will be dispatched.

Q. Can I set a cut-off/expiration date for a message?

Yes! You can set up a cut-off/expiration date for any message.

Q. Can I embed a survey in a message?

Yes! It is possible to embed a survey within an email message, although if you do decide to take this route, you should be aware - upfront - that we don't recommend this as a way to distribute surveys. The primary reason is that it is not possible to guarantee an embedded survey will work correctly for everyone in a non-homogeneous respondent group. It makes sense to explore the "embedded form" approach only if the message administrator can guarantee that email recipients are using exactly the same platform (operating system, email program, web browser, email and web browser configuration settings, etc.). It then becomes a highly platform-dependent message, which is not recommended unless the message is intended for distribution to a group of employees within a single, specific enterprise (where a corporate IT department enforces rigorous desktop and network computer configuration standards).

Q. Can I have an unlimited number of contacts in the message system?

Yes! You can store an unlimited number of contacts and lists in your message system.

1.4 Campaign Tracking

Q. Can I view real-time delivery rates?

Yes! You can view real-time, up-to-the-minute results for any of your campaigns including read receipts, bounce-backs and click-throughs.

Q. Can I see who has seen my campaign?

Yes! You can easily track campaign contacts in the Report Manager.

Q. Can I receive auto notification and confirmation that a message has been received?

Yes! You can receive an automatic notification sent to your email address confirming a message has been received.

Q. Can I sort my contact list?

Yes! You have the ability to sort and filter your contact lists based on: time/date a message was dispatched, read receipts, subscription attributes and name, email address, etc.

Yes! You can export you lists in the following formats: Excel; SQL, CSV; SPSS; HTML with Office Components; Web archive; Acrobat PDF; XML files with report data and TIFF files.

1.5 Campaign Reporting

Q. Can I instantly view campaign results with summary statistics in real time?

Yes! By default the system displays up-to-the-minute results for all your campaigns. By selecting the report format, InSite will instantly analyze your data and provide you with real-time summary statistics.

Q. Can I view graphical results online?

Yes! By default the system produces graphic tables containing frequency histograms, relative and valid percentages.

Q. Can I produce statistics on campaign results by certain defined criteria?

Yes! You can create reports based on specific criteria. For example, you can create reports based on state, subscription profile, etc.

Q. How long is my campaign data available online?

Your campaign data is available online as long as you want. Only when you delete a message or export a message data out of the system will it not be available online.

Q. Can I publish reports to the web?

Yes! You can publish reports to your website as dynamic i.e. searchable documents, snapshots or as static, downloadable PDFs.

Q. Can I create reports based a predefined template?

Yes! You can generate reports based on a number of report templates.

Q. Can I create and customize reports?

Yes! You can create customized reports based on your parameters and save these as PDF or Word documents.

1.6 Campaign Administration

Q. Can I create a message intro page that asks for an ID or PIN number to verify or authenticate recipients before accessing a message?

Yes! A dynamic intro page (or landing page) is where you can include the functionality to capture information such as IDs, passwords or PINs to verify and or authenticate respondents prior to accessing a message.

Q. Can I allow respondents to print a copy of their message?

Yes! Respondents can print off a formatted copy of the message.

Q. Can I specify a date to close and/or deactivate a message?

Yes! You can set the date when you would like to automatically close or deactivate your message.

Q. Can I give other users access to campaign data?

Yes! System administrators can set up accounts that can allow access to other users to view campaign data and reports.

Q. Can I add third-party browser-based Web analytics JavaScript to pages for tracking purposes (WebTrends, Omniture, Google, etc.) and produce usage statistics?

Yes! You can create a message template that includes custom Javascript tags at any location within the page. Also, for an additional monthly fee, InSite can enable IIS logs for your Messages. As long as the external usage monitoring/reporting tool in question is capable of parsing IIS logs.
